GODSKISSTODEE: A Nomad's Home
godskisstodee:
I always feel more lonely when I’m at home. Being home kinda reminds me of being a nomad. There seems to be many different groups that I belong to, but don’t really get to spend time with. When I’m at home, I want to spend time with my church friends from there. But having to go back to San José…
I feel similar actually. I haven’t kept in contact with a lot of my high school friends. I don’t really have a “home church” either. The church my family goes to now they started going to my sophomore year in college. They know me there, but I feel really out of place. With me being so busy with everything going on in San Jose I don’t really have time to connect with people at home, so I end up doing hardly anything. I love my family and love spending time with them, but I can’t stand being home for more than a few days. I think it’s because for once in my life, I know where I’m supposed to be and it’s not at home in Pacifica :\

Reading over the portfolio guidelines for SJSU A/I is intimidating me… I really want to apply this semester, but I don’t think I’ll get in. :[

Another character design study. This one is from a legend of a mother putting her child in a basket, only to turn around later to find the basket walking off with the baby.

Sketch of that Toothless’ father again. My teacher wanted more expression out of the drawing, in the case of one, the stern parent look. As if he’s saying “What do are you doing?” So I did this right after the critique in my sketchbook. It’s getting there, but it was really hard tilting that head.

Dragon!
This was a character design exercise. We were to take a character from a 3D animated film or show or short, and create a character that could look like it would be in the same family as the original. Of course I picked the hardest thing to draw…
This is based off Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon. It’s supposed to be his father, or some older related Night Fury.
Done in pencil on used animation paper sketchbook.
